Definition of Structured Cabling Systems

The definition of structured cabling systems is associated with a complete system consisting of cabling along with the necessary hardware. This system is designed to provide your business with an all-inclusive telecommunications infrastructure. The infrastructure once implemented will provide you with many uses. Some of these include transmitting data through your computer network and telephone services. This system is not device dependent.

Each of the structured cabling systems will be unique, and this is due to the variations included in the following factors:

  • The architectural structure relating to your building that will house your cabling installations
  • The product type associated with connections and cables
  • The functions that your cabling installation is required to perform
  • The equipment type that this installation is designed to support currently and to support any future plans for your cabling system
  • If you have system installed already the configuration of this system is considered for retrofits and upgrades
  • Your requirements out of a structured cabling system
  • The warranties supplied from the manufacturer
